Sudbury MP Paul Lefebvre gained’t be in search of re-election within the subsequent federal election, he introduced on his Fb web page on March 12.

“I’ve valued each second I’ve spent in Ottawa, working for Sudburians,” Lefebvre stated in his assertion. “However the time away from my household these previous six years has been troublesome, and it’s time another person earned the possibility to serve this nice driving.”

Lefebvre was first elected as MP in 2015. 

“As Sudbury’s voice in Ottawa, I’ve labored with lots of you to exceed the targets we set in 2015,” he stated within the assertion.

Lefebvre stated he has helped deliver greater than $500 million in federal investments into the driving of Sudbury, in roads, public transit and energetic transportation, flood mitigation, public security, social companies, well being care, housing, arts and tradition, seniors companies, trades and employment coaching, post-secondary analysis and extra.

“We have now nurtured the partnerships that made all of this doable and helped increase Sudbury’s profile nationally and internationally,” he stated.

Lefebvre stated he has labored with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s authorities to advertise Canada’s mining and minerals sector world wide, and to advertise Sudbury’s “distinctive world place as chief in mining and minerals exploration and processing.”

“I look ahead to serving to elect one other Liberal MP as Sudbury’s voice in Ottawa,” stated Lefebvre.
