The variety of new COVID-19 cases among nursing home workers members has fallen 83 %, from 28,802 cases reported the week ending Dec. 20 to 4,764 new cases for the week ending Feb. 14, in keeping with CMS information cited by Kaiser Health News.

New COVID-19 cases among nursing home residents fell by 89 % in that interval, in contrast with 58 % in most of the people, in keeping with CMS and Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins University information cited by Kaiser Health News.

The information means that “the vaccine seems to be having a dramatic impact on lowering cases, which is extraordinarily encouraging,” mentioned Beth Martino, spokesperson for the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living.

Nursing home workers and residents have been a few of the first Americans eligible to obtain the COVID-19 vaccine this December. The vaccination price among staffers is considerably decrease than that of residents, although some nursing home associations informed Kaiser Health News that the speed of workers vaccination is growing.
