ND Legislature passes ‘Nursing Home Email’ bill


BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) – A bill is headed to Gov. Doug Burgum’s, R-N.D., desk that expands communication rights for residents of long-term care.

The bill classifies electronic mail as a protected type of communication and would permit all residents to have entry to electrical gadgets.

Lawmakers known as it “one other lesson from the pandemic”.

After the months-long halt to visitations for a lot of North Dakota long-term care residents, amenities rushed to improve and set up new types of digital communications so households may discuss to their aged members of the family.

With the governor’s signature, these types of communication would develop into state legislation.
