The residents at the The Gardens at Qualicum Beach were ready to raise a glass last week to celebrate the promise of spring … and St. Patrick’s Day!

The residents were pleased to be able to flash a smile while doing it, having all received their vaccinations, which made the celebrations all the sweeter.

The Gardens continues to follow COVID safety protocols to protect residents, including having all staff and visitors masked while at the residence, notes Community Relations Manager Billy Jolicoeur.

“It was a great day here at the Gardens – we started with happy hour at 2 p.m. with snacks and of course green beer, wine or a tipple of Irish whiskey. We even had The Islanders performing in the main lounge,” Jolicoeur says.

Dressed in green, residents enjoyed afternoon cribbage while awaiting a delicious lamb dinner prepared by the talented team of chefs. Outside the dining room, a pipe band played for everyone’s enjoyment.

The festive celebrations were a delight to residents, who appreciate the inviting setting and fun, enjoyable social opportunities the team at The Gardens provides.

Music, games and of course, green beer and Irish whiskey were included in the Gardens at Qualicum Beach’s St. patrick’s Day celebrations.

Residents can even choose from privately owned condominiums or Independent Living Suites in configurations ranging from studio to two-bedroom units, ideal for both couples and singles to enjoy their retirement in a community designed to meet every need.

After all, why worry about daily chores like cooking, cleaning and home maintenance when you can enjoy delicious chef-prepared cuisine, a host of social activities to enjoy as you choose, and the time to pursue the activities and pastimes you love?
