Since last March, there have been 5,699 confirmed cases in the Northern Health Region, and 5,238 of those have since recovered.
Provincial COVID-19 data
British Columbia added 800 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, raising the active case count to 5,856.
There are 306 people in hospital, 79 of whom are in ICU.
The province recorded five COVID-19 related deaths Thursday, bringing the total to 1,446.
Since last spring, there have been 94,769 confirmed cases in the province, and 87,351 of those have since recovered.
More visitors allowed at LTC homes
Health officials announced the loosening of restrictions on visitors at long-term care homes and assisted living facilities.
Effective April 1st, residents will be allowed two guests, plus one child per visit.
Volunteers needed for vaccination clinics
Northern Health is looking for volunteers to help with mass vaccination clinics in Fort St. John between April 12th and July 2nd. Roles include greeters, flow monitors, supply runners, and TLC volunteers. Apply online to choose roles and available times.
Increased fines for non-compliance
The province announced stiffer penalties for those organizing or attending non-compliant gatherings. Effective immediately, the $230 ticket has been increased to $575.
The fine for those organizing, promoting, or hosting an event will remain at $2,300.
