A NEW fitness and wellness centre is opening on the Coast and owner Jenelle Leat claims it will be something unlike anything anyone has ever experienced before.
Ms Leat has been teaching yoga for over a decade and said it had always been her passion to open up her own studio and create a centre that was inclusive of the whole community.
Taking the plunge, she has acquired a space in the heart of Caloundra and her business, New Standard Yoga and Fitness Centre was set to open on November 13.
“We aren’t your average yoga or fitness establishment and there is really nothing like us anywhere in Queensland,” she said.
“Our long-term vision for the centre is to create a diverse and empowered community full of people working towards evolving themselves through health and well-being.”
The centre will offer a range of classes for beginners to experienced yogis and Ms Leat said, unlike other studios, children were encouraged to come along.
“We offer a child-friendly class for parents to bring their kids to practice with them, play with the other children there, sleep, breastfeed or whatever is needed of the child during the class,” she said.
Fitness equipment and the yoga studio would be open outside of class times to members.
Ms Leat has collaborated with local business RAWR foods to set up shop at the centre and offer raw treats, drinks and snacks.
The centre also includes a community garden, which would be open for anyone who wanted it.
Ms Leat said their pricing system was unique as they wanted the centre to be accessible to everyone.
