Adults aged 70 and older, (born 1951 or earlier), as well as all remaining healthcare workers as identified in the Ministry of Health’s Guidance on Health Care Worker Prioritization, can pre-register for the COVID-19 vaccine.

This is Phase 2 of the vaccination roll-out plan.

The list of people eligible to register includes those over 70, all healthcare workers and essential caregivers of residents in long-term care and retirement homes.

Also included are adult recipients of chronic home care, and faith leaders with increased risk of exposure.

Pre-registration continues to be open for all Indigenous adults and their household members age 16 and older. Urban Indigenous and first Nations communities have been a priority group for the vaccine since Phase one of the program.

Once a person has pre-registered on the health unit website they will be placed in the queue to receive a vaccine appointment.

They will be sent an e-mail invitation from the province with a booking code to book their appointment on the provincial book system

Both first and second dose appointments will be made at that time.

More than 73,000 does of the vaccine have already been administered in Simcoe Muskoka under the province’s vaccine roll-out plan.

You can register by visiting the health district website at www.smdhu.org.
